Why Havannah Harbour

The quieter side of Efate. The diving you came for.

Havannah Harbour, Moso Island and Paul's Rock offer some of Efate's most rewarding diving: clear water, turtles, layered reef structures and wrecks worth taking time to explore.

Vanuatu is an easy tropical escape for Australian and New Zealand travellers—close enough for a short break, yet unmistakably different from home.

02

Paul's Rock

A special outer-site option for experienced divers when conditions and the day's plan line up.

About Abyss Vanuatu

A long connection. A carefully considered next step.

Twenty-five years ago, Rachael and Carl travelled to Vanuatu and fell in love with Moso Island and the diving around it.

After raising a family and building 26 years of recreational and commercial diving experience, the timing felt right to take the next step. With their twin boys old enough to travel easily, yet young enough for home schooling, the family made the move.

They based themselves within a local village to learn from the community and establish Abyss Vanuatu in the right way—with respect, patience and strong local relationships.

Rachael and Carl will travel between Australia and Vanuatu, while trusted managers oversee daily operations. The first focus is excellent diving, supported by nearby accommodation partners. Developing Abyss-operated accommodation is part of the longer-term vision.
